    The MI 2005 Medical Network Isolator is engineered to support modern WLAN routers and Ethernet connections with speeds up to 2.5 Gbps, while operating seamlessly with existing Cat6 cabling. Designed to meet the stringent requirements of DIN EN 60601-1 (Edition 3.2), it provides two independent Means of Patient Protection (2 MOPP), making it ideal for standard-compliant galvanic isolation of Ethernet-based interfaces in patient environments.

    With integrated ESD and lightning protection, the MI 2005 safeguards connected devices, users, and patients from hazardous overvoltages caused by lightning strikes, static discharge, and other disturbances.

    Compact and lightweight, the MI 2005 requires no software installation or external power supply — simply plug it into your network for instant protection. Tested to withstand up to 5kV AC isolation (60 seconds), as well as 8kV contact discharge and 16kV air discharge, it ensures robust, reliable operation even under extreme conditions.

    In medicine: Network isolators protect patients and medical devices from excessive leakage currents that may flow through the data network. Every device connected to the network represents a risk. This data network connection is ultimately also a risk for patients. The MI 2005 Ethernet Isolator protects patients, equipment and users from dangerous leakage currents that can appear unexpectedly at any time.
    Measuring and monitoring: Network isolators protect sensitive measuring and monitoring devices in electrical testing laboratories, which are connected through an Ethernet network to a control centre, and need to be protected from transients and potential differences.
    Server systems: In order to avoid failures or potential equalization currents, network isolators protect server systems which are connected over long distances via Ethernet cabling.
    Audio applications: The MI 2005 reduce the transmission of low frequency alternating currents (AC hum) over the network connection.

    The Network Isolator MI 2005 can easaly be plugged into an existing network cabling by simply inserting. The passive electronic components do not require a separate power supply and behave completely transparently on the data network. Therefore, no installation of drivers or additional software is required.

    The MI 2005 network isolators fulfill the high requirements of current medical standards as per IEC 60601-1 (Edition 3.2) and IEC 60601-1-2.
